IT ALL STARTED WITH A PASSION FOR GOOD FOOD

It was during a trip to the USA that the founder of Ausgrills, Colin Johnsen, first sampled a steak cooked on an Infrared barbecue. He couldn’t believe how flavoursome and juicy the meat was compared to what was cooking on a gas barbecue at home. Colin decided to find out more about cooking on an Infrared barbecue. Colin soon found out that there was nothing like it here in Australia and decided he needed to remedy that situation to ensure Aussie barbecue chefs weren’t missing out.

In early 2018 Colin began the process of importing TEC Grills into Australia. The approval process was arduous, as it’s important to ensure that cooking equipment is safe to use in Australian homes and meets Australian standards. The TEC grills available on the Ausgrills website have all undergone and passed the rigourous testing process.
