How does Infrared cooking work?
Gas burners super heat a ceramic plate which sits just below the stainless still grill grates. Heat from the ceramic plate radiates evenly to the food on the grates, this means an even temperature across the grill surface and no flare ups.

The heat radiates directly into the food, it cooks faster and the flavour is locked in. Traditional gas barbecues use hot air that is circulating the food to cook, this approach can lead to it drying out and becoming tough. An Infrared barbecue cooks meat faster and more evenly for a far juicier result than a traditional barbecue.

A CLOSER LOOK

All TEC grills operate by firing a gas burner underneath a glass panel.
The glass panel gets hot and emits the infrared radiation that cooks the food.

The radiant glass panel sits between the burner tube and the cooking grates which essentially eliminates the possibility of flare ups and enhances flavour. The radiant glass panel will incinerate food drippings as they fall through the cooking grates, creating a rich, smoky vapor that adds flavour to the food. Now you can have it all – the convenience of gas and the charbroiled flavor of charcoal or wood, but without the ashy residue!
